Life is Balance displayed at Surtex licensing show

Surtex, the trade show for licensing art & design opened today at the Jacob Javitz Center in New York City. My agent from Looking Good Licensing is there representing my line, Life is Balance.™ I visited the booth and was excited to see my designs up on one wall of their booth. We already have a licensee, The Mountain, exclusively producing these designs on t-shirts, we are hoping the next few days at Surtex bring interest in further licensing the line. Fingers crossed! The possibilities are endless for this sport and activity related design series. If you’re in the neighborhood come stop by booth #512!

The Origin of Life is Balance

In Chinese philosophy, yin & yang (heaven & earth) represent two  opposing yet complementary forces, or energies that are said to be found in nature. One cannot exist without the other. They create balance.

I designed Life is Balance™ to pay homage to the yin & yang by celebrating the balance we add to our lives through sports and activities that bring us pleasure.

Each yin yang symbol in this line has been altered to make it specific to a particular sport. Each sport has a color coded pallette.  Along with the “Life is Balance” tagline, each sport symbol contains a phrase, the meaning of which can be taken both as a reference to the sport itself, as well as in the broader realm of life.
