The view from the beach of Grace Bay, Provodenciales

I’m finally going to take a well-needed vacation. In just 6 days I’ll be heading south for the beautiful Turks & Caicos Islands to go Scuba Diving. It’s been two years since I’ve been down there and I can’t wait to get wet again!

I just bought a new Canon G11 camera and underwater housing and I’m anxious to try it out. As with all new cameras there is a learning curve. The G11 has tons of settings, from all automatic to all manual. Hopefully by the time I jump in the water, I’ll have mastered, or at least learned enough about all the various features and options, to take some kick-ass photos! Stay tuned, my results will be posted.

Good News…CHASE did the right thing!

I just wanted to post an update regarding the ATM fraud with my mom’s CHASE checking and savings accounts. CHASE finally did the right thing and has refunded all of my mother’s stolen money plus ATM fees to both of her accounts. They finally agreed to do this after I sent a few letters to Jamie Dimon, the CEO of CHASE. What I learned from this experience is that when you go to the top, you can usually get things done . A lot of persistence helps too! Thank you CHASE for stepping up and doing the right thing!

Earth Day 2010

Today is Earth Day. A day to pay homage to mother earth and renew our pledge to conserve her resources. With all the natural disasters that seem to be playing havoc lately, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, we need to stop and consider how much of these “acts of nature” are actually the result of humans mismanagement of or resources. There are plenty of things that we can do to preserve the environment that we take for granted. Conserve energy. Turn out lights and computers when not in use. We’re all guilty, myself included. Don’t print out every email. Use recyclable tote bags to cart your groceries, buy green products, don’t litter.  Treat the earth, it’s land and oceans as you would your own home — because it is. Make a conscious effort today, Earth Day to start walking the walk. Mother Earth will thank you for it.

My Earth Day design is available on items that will help you get started: travel mugs and Sigg water bottles to avoid disposable coffee cups and plastic water bottles, tote bags for groceries and, of course, t-shirts. Check out all the Share the World styles and products!
