I spent this New Year’s (as I have for the past couple of years) with my two best friends from childhood. I met Nettie and Emily on the first day of Junior High School 143 in the Bronx and we have been friends ever since. There is something very comforting about welcoming in a new year, with all it’s fresh yet unknown possibilities, while still being able to hold onto something that has always been a constant throughout the years. I know that wherever 2013 will take me, these women will always be there to support me through the ups and downs just as I will be there for them.
